The Philippines alarmingly generates an estimated 2.7 million tons of plastic every year. The rampant use of single-use plastics and other synthetic materials continues to pollute our Earth, contributing to climate change and global warming.

In light of this pressing issue, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) fully supports and celebrates Plastic Free July in the Philippines. We strongly encourage everyone to be mindful and responsible in managing their plastic consumption. While plastics may offer convenience in our daily lives, we must also recognize the far-reaching negative impacts they have on our environment. Let us take action and make conscious choices. Together, we can reduce our plastic footprint and make a positive difference.

Happy Plastic Free July, everyone!
