๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐; ๐ฏ๐ข๐ ๐ณ๐จ๐จ๐ฆ – Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) Executive Director Atty. Teodoro Jose S. Matta entered and signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), for and on behalf of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD), with the University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos (UPLB) represented by its Chancellor Dr. Jose V. Camacho, Jr.
This act is in pursuit of the project titled โNatural Capital Accounting of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems in the West Philippine Sea,โ (RE-INVEST WPS Project 2) under the program โResource Inventory, Valuation and Policy in Ecosystems Services under Threat (RE-INVEST): The Case of the West Philippine Sea.โ The project generally aims to develop a framework for coastal and marine natural capital accounting in the West Philippine Sea.
Furthermore, the MOA embodied the PCSD and UPLBโs desire, in the spirit of cooperation and mutual interest, to achieve the shared goal of advancing sustainable natural resources management and environmental protection in the Country.
Through the MOA, the PCSD and UPLB commit to extend full cooperation and support in developing physical and monetary accounts for coastal resources and ecosystem services towards the sustainable management of the natural capital of the West Philippine Sea, which will lead to a sustainable and resilient future for the stakeholders found within and in the vicinity of the area.
