๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐ ๐ฒ. ๐๐๐ ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ค๐๐ญ, ๐๐๐ -On or about 4:40PM, the PCSDS WEO/POP rescued a male pangolin with 44cm length, 13cm girth and estimated to be more or less 3kg. The said mammal was turned over by Mr. Rudolph Castillo who narrated that the said pangolin was chanced upon their farm at Bgy. Salvacion, PPC being attacked by their dogs. Concerned for its well-being, Mr. Kenneth Russel Castillo immediately coordinated with the PCSDS in order to properly turn over the said pangolin.
It is noteworthy that the Pangolin is classified as a โCritically Endangered Speciesโ under PCSD Resolution 23-967, highlighting the importance of wildlife preservation. After its treatment at the PWRCC and was deemed to be fit by the veterinarian, said pangolin was released back into its natural habitat.
The rescue highlights the significance of community involvement in wildlife conservation efforts. The PCSDS commends Mr. Rudolph and Kenneth Castilloโs responsible actions and encourages others to follow suit by reporting wildlife encounters to appropriate authorities.
