𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟐-𝟏𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥, 𝐏𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲- During the Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) Finalization, Investment Planning, Policy Development, and Capability Enhancement Workshop participants were treated to an insightful presentation by PCSD Staff, ir. May Ann J. Rapio.

Ms. Rapio’s presentation focused on the details of “Cover Change Detection Analysis of the Victoria Anepahan Mountain Range (VAMR) landscape,” highlighting that the analysis was made thru remote sensing techniques. Through her presentation, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the changes occurring in the landscape from 2015 to 2020. Further, Ms. Rapio presented detection results in both 2D and 3D images. These visual aids provided participants with almost real-time views of the detected changes, offering invaluable insights into areas that require prioritization for restoration efforts.

PCSD staff, Engr. Arnel delos Santos and Mr. Michael Eugene Venturillo also rendered technical assistance during the herein mentioned workshop.

This workshop has shed light on critical aspects of environmental conservation, protection, and restoration, particularly focusing on the Palawan FLR and VAMR Landscape. Doing things like this means we can manage our natural resources well and make sure they’ll be around for future generations.
