𝗔𝘇𝗶𝘇𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹, 𝗣𝘂𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻- Today, September 1, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS), in collaboration with USAID-SIBOL, extended its technical assistance in the conduct of “’High-Level Forum for the Restoration of Palawan’s Forest Landscape” spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Palawan through its Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) and Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee on Environment chaired by Board Member Hon. Ryan Maminta.

PCSDS through ECAN Zones Management and Enforcement Division (EZMED) Ms. Aiza Arangorin led in the discussion of the 5-Year Palawan Forest Restoration Action Plan, which is the byproduct of a series of stakeholders’ consultations conducted from March 2023 to August 2023 among PCSDS and its different stakeholders in the province. PCSDS ECAN Monitoring and Evaluation Division (EMED) Ms. May Ann Rapio also led in the information-sharing on the Priority Restoration Maps in Palawan, in addition to the “introduction of the Palawan Forest Landscape Restoration Network” which was earlier discussed by Atty. Noel E. Aquino from PG-ENRO.

This provincial-wide forum was also participated by key members of public and private sector organizations, such as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR); Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA); representatives from the academe; Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (MENROs); Sanggunian Bayan Members; and Forest Landscape Restoration Committee, among others. Aiza Arangorin ang pagtalakay sa “Five-year Forest Restoration Action Plan” ng Palawan, bilang resulta ng mga konsultasyon ng PCSDS at mga kasapi nito na ginanap mula Marso 2023 hanggang Agosto 2023. Nagbahagi din si PCSDS EMED G. May Ann Rapio ng kaniyang kaalaman tungkol sa “Priority Restoration Maps” sa Palawan, pagkatapos ng “introduction on the Palawan Forest Landscape Restoration Network” na tinalakay ni Atty. Noel E. Aquino ng PG-ENRO.

Ang nasabing aktibidades ay dinaluhan ng piling mga organisasyon mula sa pribado at pampublikong sektor dito, katulad ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), miyembro ng akademya, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (MENROs), Sangguniang Bayan, at Forest Landscape Restoration Committee. Sila ay naging bahagi din ng panunumpa (Pledge of Commitment) para sa tuloy-tuloy na pangangalaga at pagprotekta ng kalikasan ng Palawan.
