On April 21st, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) ECAN Monitoring and Evaluation Division (EMED) collected water samples from the Puerto Princesa Bay to assess and evaluate its current ecosystem conditions using the Environment Monitoring Evaluation System (EMES),

The water sample collection took place at the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk, encompassing the small-boat docking area (located on the right side of pier), Statue of Princesa ng Baybay, and the left wing of the boulevard leading to Bgy. Mangingisda. In addition, the coastal areas of Bgy. Old Buncag and Bgy. Abanico were also included in the activity.

The collected water samples are now being analyzed at the PCSD Environmental Laboratory to assess their pH level, color, total suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, fecal coliform, oil and grease, settleable solids, nitrates, and phosphates.
