As a crucial introduction into the knowledge and skills needed for the implementation and operationalization of the said marine-monitoring technologies, it is being participated by representatives from PCSDS, DENR-PENRO, DENR-CENRO-Taytay, Snake Island-National Center on Marine and Coastal REsearch (SI-NCMCR), Protected Area Management Office-El Nido-Taytay Resource Managed Protected Area, Provincial Government-ENRO, City Agriculture Office, Western Philippines University, World Wildlife Fund Palawan, and LGU-Kalayaan, which will all serve as operators of these technologies functioning as its local reef monitoring experts.
This undertaking is under the Marine Resource Initiative (MRI) Project jointly implemented by PCSDS and AIMS, and is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia. It aims to enhance coral reef monitoring in the region by focusing on capacity building and implementation of AIMS technological solutions for data collection, standardization, analysis, and reporting. #PCSDNews#PCSDUpdates
