The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) apprehended a Taiwanese national and a Filipino citizen on September 24, 2025 in Taytay, Palawan for violating Republic Act No. 9147 or the Wildlife Act. The suspects were found in possession of a considerable number of lobsters without the required permits from PCSDS.

PCSDS has noted a growing trend of foreign nationals conniving with Filipino citizens to evade environmental regulatory laws and nationality requirements for permits. This unlawful practice threatens the sustainable use of Palawan’s natural resources and undermines the country’s legal framework.

The agency sternly warns the public against circumvention of environmental laws and nationality requirements and it remains resolute in its mandate to implement the provisions of the Wildlife Act and other environmental laws.
