19 January 2024 – PCSDS EZMED immediately rescued one Reticulated Python ( Malayopython reticulatus) locally known as โ€œSawaโ€ in response to an information communicated by a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Aborlan, Palawan.

The informant, Rafael Ortega III, reported the python’s intrusion into their poultry, which prompted him to reach out to the PCSDS EZMED for assistance.

Weighing in at approximately thirty (30) kilograms, the PCSD Enforcement Team, consisting of six (6) members, successfully captured the mentioned “Sawa” to ensure the safety of the community.

It is noteworthy that the Reticulated Python is classified as an โ€œEndangered Speciesโ€ under PCSD Resolution 23-967, highlighting the importance of wildlife preservation.
