The event highlighted the project’s achievements, with a wrap-up presentation detailing CSIRO’s methodologies and findings on marine plastic litter in the Philippines. Attendees also heard from participants about their experiences and the application of their learnings within their institutions. An interactive session allowed stakeholders to share insights, feedback, and suggestions on potential future directions for managing plastic pollution in the Philippines.

The collaborative initiative underscored the critical need for ongoing efforts to address marine pollution in the region.

The project which is going into phase 2 shall consider specific needs of the different stakeholders involved with the project. In order to capitalize on this opportunity, PCSDS shall assist Western Philippines University as project lead in the province of Palawan on monitoring previously assessed areas for marine litter.
