In support of the observance of the National Resilience Month with the theme β€œBIDANG Pilipino: Building a Stronger Filipino Well-being towards Disaster Resilience”, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)- Calamian participated in the tree-planting/ growing activities in the watershed of Bgy. Decabobo, Coron, Palawan, on July 15.

Organized by the Coron Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRMMO), the reforestation activity enabled the participants from the public and private sectors to plant a total of 500 seedlings of Ipil and 300 seedlings of Banga trees in the said venue.

Signed on June 28, 2017, Executive Order Number 29 mandates the annual observance of National Disaster Resilience Month “throughout the country [Philippines] through the conduct of activities relative to building of disaster resilience covering the four thematic areas: prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitation and recovery.”
