In a collaborative effort between the PCSDS DMD Calamian and the PATH Foundation, a webinar was conducted in Coron, Palawan, shedding light on critical biodiversity threats in the province. Ms. Micah Balbon-Losauro, representing PCSDS, served as the resource speaker for the event.

The webinar, held on March 26, 2024, via Zoom, saw the active participation of second-year students from the Palawan State University Coron Campus. Ms. Balbon-Losauro’s expertise in environmental conservation and sustainable development provided valuable insights into the challenges facing the province’s biodiversity.

During her presentation, Ms. Balbon-Losauro delved into the various threats endangering Palawan’s rich biodiversity. These include habitat destruction, illegal wildlife trade, climate change, and pollution, among others. She emphasized the importance of collective action and community involvement in addressing these pressing issues.

The collaboration between PCSD DMD Calamian and the PATH Foundation highlights the importance of partnerships in raising awareness and fostering environmental stewardship. As threats to biodiversity continue to escalate, initiatives like these play a crucial role in mobilizing communities towards sustainable practices and biodiversity conservation.
