𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧, 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 — The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) DMD Calamian Monitoring and Enforcement Team intercepted illegal wildlife trade activities in Poblacion 3, Coron, Palawan, confiscating four live Suno, fifteen live Lobster, and five pieces of Seamantis without the necessary Wildlife Special Use Permit (WSUP).

In a swift response to the violation, the confiscated species were promptly released back into their natural habitat at Siete Pecados Marine Protected Area on the same day. This action was carried out in close coordination with the Siete Pecados Marine Protected Area Management.

The PCSDS DMD Calamian’s Monitoring and Enforcement Team remains vigilant in enforcing wildlife protection laws and regulations, aiming to curb illegal activities that threaten the biodiversity of Palawan’s marine ecosystems.

Efforts like these underscore the commitment of local authorities to preserve and safeguard the rich marine biodiversity of Coron, Palawan, ensuring its sustainability for future generations.
