𝐏𝐂𝐒𝐃𝐒 𝐃𝐌𝐃-𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 (𝟒) 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐍𝐏- 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫

𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙤𝙣, 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙣─ On August 17, four (4) species of turtles ─(1) Asian Leaf Turtle (𝘊𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘺𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢), and three (3) Southeast Asian Box Turtles (𝘊𝘶𝘰𝘳𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴) ─ were turned over to Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)- Calamian by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Group Coron after rescuing the wildlife species in Bgy. Bintuan.

The Southeast Asian Box turtles were listed as “Endangered Species” under the PCSD Resolution 15-521, while the Asian Leaf Turtle is listed as “Lower Risk” species in the IUCN Red List.

(Coron, Palawan- Noong ika-17 ng Agosto, ibinigay ng Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Group Coron sa Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)- Calamian ang apat (4) na klase ng pagong ─ (1) Asian Leaf Turtle (𝘊𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘺𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢), at tatlong (3) Southeast Asian Box Turtles (𝘊𝘶𝘰𝘳𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴) ─ matapos itong mailigtas sa isang rescue operation ng mga pulisya na ikinasa sa Bgy. Bintuan.

Ayon sa PCSD Resolution 15-521, ang Southeast Asian Box turtles ay isa ng “Endangered Species” (paubos-bilang na pagong); samantala, ang Asian Leaf Turtle ay tinagurian ng “Lower Risk” species (unti-unti nang nauubos) sa international Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List.
