𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻- On July 27, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) – District Management Division (DMD) – Calamian joined the Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) projects monitoring with Palawan Sectoral Monitoring Team (PMST) in Bgy. Marcilla.
The PSMT team visited the MFI’s projects in Coron such as the Sibid (small boat for tourism), piggery, and the Seaweed Processing Center, and found out that the MFI’s projects in Bgy. Marcilla have effectively stimulated economic activity, improved livelihoods, and fostered sustainable practices therein.
PSMT ensures that MFI’s projects adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, as well as any specific guidelines or agreements set forth by stakeholders, including government agencies, and local communities. Furthermore, it helps to ensure that MFI’s initiatives contribute to sustainable development in the target communities, creating long-term positive impacts that continue beyond the project’s completion.
As a member of PSMT, the DMD staff actively engages with local communities through feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders to understand the projects’ real-life impacts and ensure community participation, ownership, and environmental well-being.
