In preparation for the Training of Trainers (TOT) involving the barangay officials of Coron in raising awareness and galvanizing the participation of the locals in observing proper solid waste segregation, the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)- Calamian attended the meeting by the Calamianes Resilience Network (CRN) Board and Technical Working Group on May 18.
Held at the Municipal Solid Waste Management Office of Coron, the meeting provided an avenue for the presentation of the tentative program of activities to be implemented under the TOT, which primarily aims to enhance and elevate the waste management practices of the municipality, while also emphasizing community empowerment.
Aside from PCSDS-Calamian, it was also attended by Engr. Jess John Arevalo, Head of Solid Waste Management Office; Dr. Allan Guintapan, Municipal Health Officer (MHO); and Engr. Mike Fababier, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator. Furthermore, it was attended by Mr. Teoderico De Guia, Executive Director of CRN; Ryan Jose R. Reyes, Principal I, Claudio Sandoval Elementary School, Coron Coastal District, DEPEd; Mr. Jonald Lenasic, DENR-EMB; and Ms. Joan Dizon, DENR-CENRO.
PCSDS-Calamian is one of the members of CRN Board and Technical Working Group.
The said TOT for barangay officials will tentatively begin on June 9.
