𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝐤𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐂𝐒𝐃𝐒 𝐃𝐌𝐃 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧

𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧; 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 – – In a collaborative effort to combat wildlife trafficking, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) under the Department of Transportation (DOTr), led by Terminal Chief Mark Anthony Manlavi, turned over approximately 20 kilograms of confiscated Giant Clams (𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒄𝒏𝒂 𝒈𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒔) to the PCSDS District Management Division Calamian.

The confiscated Giant Clams were originally in the possession of a passenger on an aircraft at Busuanga Airport and were subsequently placed in the custody of the Coron District Management Office. The turnover was facilitated by the Wildlife Trafficking and Monitoring Officer in conjunction with the DMD Calamian Monitoring and Enforcement Section.

The Giant Clam is listed as an “Endangered” species under PCSD Resolution 23-967.
