On November 11, 2024, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) – Gender and Development-Focal Point System (GAD-FPS) conducted a Workshop on Updating the Status of the DENR GAD Sectoral Baseline Data Gathering Activity in Manila.

This initiative, part of the DENR’s commitment to Gender and Development in the Environment and Natural Resources sector, aims to gather baseline data and conduct impact assessments for the DENR GAD Information System.

PCSDS, through its GAD Focal Point System, presented its progress on the GAD initiative, showcasing its contributions to the data gathering activity. The workshop, following a previous event in November 2023, aligns with Republic Act No. 9710, requiring government agencies to develop comprehensive GAD databases.

The presented timeline covers data collection from 2024 to 2026, with an Impact Assessment in 2027. PCSDS’ involvement reflects its dedication to incorporating gender considerations in environmental policies while promoting sustainable development in Palawan.
