
EZMED, in collaboration with the Calamianes Resilience Network Inc. (CRN), organized and conducted Wildlife Enforcement Officer (WEO) Deputation Trainings in Coron and Culion, Palawan. The training sessions took place from February 19-23, 2024, in Coron and from February 26 to March 1, 2024, in Culion.
The training sessions, held in partnership with CRN, aimed to equip potential Wildlife Enforcement Officers with the necessary skills and knowledge. Resource speakers from various sectors, including Enforcement and Habitat Sections of EZMED, Legal Services Section, DMD Calamian, PWRCC, and Coron -MPS provided valuable insights.

In Coron, a total of thirty-seven (37) individuals from Bantay Gubat of Busuanga and Coron actively participated in the training. In Culion, twenty-eight (28) individuals from Bantay Gubat of Brgy Malaking Patag, Culion, joined the program.

The primary objectives of these sessions were to bolster the capabilities of Wildlife Enforcement Officers, enhance PCSDS’ conservation efforts, and officially deputize individuals in Coron and Culion, Palawan, to enforce wildlife protection laws.
