November 4, 2024 – A training course on the Bamboo Inventory Protocol was recently attended by the DMD North Staff. The topics included bamboo species identification, the actual establishment of sampling quadrats, and the utilization of the mobile application, BRITE Map, in the inventory and mapping of bamboo resources in the Province of Palawan. This course was facilitated by DTI-Palawan and the UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources.

Also in attendance were the Provincial ENRO, MENROs of Aborlan, Roxas, Taytay, El Nido, City ENRO, DTI personnel, the Office of Provincial Agriculturist, private/business sectors, and an IP (Indigenous Peoples) representative from Puerto Princesa City.
