The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), representing the Philippine Government, and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Philippines formally signed the Record of Discussions (RD) today for the project โ๐๐ฏ๐ท๐ช๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ต๐ถ๐ณ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด ๐๐ฏ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ ๐๐บ๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ฎ (๐๐๐๐๐) ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ธ๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ฐ๐ธ๐ข๐ณ๐ฅ๐ด ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐ค๐ถ๐ณ๐ช๐ต๐บ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ด๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐๐ญ๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ต๐ฆ ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ฆ.โ
With the signing of the RD, the ENRIS Project is officially set to begin implementation, which will run until 2028. The initiative will cover six major catchments across eight municipalities in PalawanโAborlan-Narra, Quezon-Rizal, Brookeโs Point, Roxas, Taytay, and El Nidoโand will be implemented by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS).
The ENRIS Project aims to strengthen the province of Palawan, a UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve (MaB), capacity for food security and climate resilience by establishing an integrated, digital platform for water resources, climate, and agricultural information management. It also seeks to advance cooperation between the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Korea, reinforcing long-standing bilateral ties through sustainable development initiatives.
